Location: The Hague, Netherlands - with possibility to work from home two days per
week
You will receive a stipend of 500 EUR per month to cover some expenses (additionally, commuting to
the office is reimbursed by UNOY).
About UNOY Peacebuilders
UNOY is a network of more than 130 youth organizations driven by young people, all striving for the creation of more peaceful societies. We advocate for values such as peace, diversity, inclusion, and active participation. At UNOY, young individuals can acquire practical experience in peacebuilding, collaborate with an international team, enhance their skill sets, and engage with peers and organizations globally.
Each intern receives guidance from a supervisor who assists in setting personal learning objectives, identifying training opportunities, and tracking development throughout the internship.
ROLES:
As a Partnerships Officer, you will collaborate with the Partnership Coordinator. Your responsibilities may include:
Fundraising and Partnership Development.
- Assisting in the execution of UNOY’s Fundraising Strategy and helping staff and regional colleagues utilize these resources.
- Supporting advocacy efforts to promote youth-accessible funding for peace and security initiatives.
- Conducting research on funding priorities and identifying potential entry points for establishing new funding relationships with various donors.
- Aiding in the preparation of concept notes and funding proposals in response to requests for proposals.
- Assisting the team in networking and managing relationships with donors and partner organizations.
- Helping with due diligence and reporting related to some of our grants.
Financial Support to UNOY Members (FSUM) and Other Programmatic Support.
- Assisting in the implementation of UNOY’s FSUM program for members.
- Supporting the coordination of regional activities for UNOY members from the East and Southern African regions in Ethiopia.
- Aiding the Partnership Coordinator with planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (PMEL) processes.
Communications & Administration.
- Contributing to external communications for UNOY’s partnerships, including the creation and editing of online content for the UNOY website and social media platforms.
- Participating in the 11th episode of the Peace Corner Podcast, which is led and produced by the officers.
- Providing general office support beyond assigned program tasks as needed.
ELIGIBILITY:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- A higher education degree (either undergraduate or postgraduate) in a field related to peace and conflict, international relations, or other pertinent areas of study.
- Experience or a keen interest in peacebuilding and youth leadership.
- Previous involvement in international development or research is advantageous.
- Excellent spoken and written English skills; proficiency in French, Arabic, Spanish, or Dutch is a plus.
- Familiarity with data management tools and spreadsheets is beneficial.
- Strong project management abilities and a proactive attitude.
- Robust intercultural communication skills, with the capacity to work both collaboratively in teams and independently.
