Duration: 6 months (Monday-Thursday, 32h/week)

Location: The Hague, Netherlands with possibility to work from home two days per

week


You will receive a stipend of 500 EUR per month to cover some expenses (additionally, commuting to

the office is reimbursed by UNOY). 


About UNOY Peacebuilders.

UNOY is a network of more than 130 youth organizations driven by young people, all striving for the creation of more peaceful societies. We advocate for values such as peace, diversity, inclusion, and active participation. At UNOY, young individuals can acquire practical experience in peacebuilding, collaborate with an international team, enhance their skill sets, and engage with peers and organizations globally. 

Each intern receives guidance from a supervisor who assists in setting personal learning objectives, identifying training opportunities, and tracking development throughout the internship.



ROLES:

As the Network Officer, you will work closely with the Network Coordinator and the broader team, and your responsibilities may include:

Network Management and Development:

You will assist with:

- Coordinating membership processes, including handling disaffiliation and membership applications.

- Managing the daily operations of the regional networks, which involves participating in team and member meetings, taking minutes, and communicating with members.

- Supporting regional teams (Regional Coordinators and International Steering Group Representatives) in various operations and tasks, such as recruitment, elections, and member engagement.

- Planning, monitoring, and evaluating the network’s activities (e.g., tracking member engagement).

- Contributing to strategic network development and governance, including collaboratively creating UNOY’s new strategic plan.

- Encouraging peer learning among members, particularly through the organization and execution of online peer-learning sessions and WhatsApp community discussions.

- Enhancing the visibility of UNOY’s initiatives by planning and preparing communication materials (e.g., blog posts) alongside the Communications Team.

- Regularly updating our members’ database.


ELIGIBILITY: 

We are seeking a candidate who possesses the following:  

- Experience or a strong passion for peacebuilding, youth engagement, and gender issues.  

- Excellent intercultural communication, analytical, and organizational skills.  

- A higher education degree (graduate or postgraduate) in a field related to peace and conflict, international relations, or related disciplines. We also welcome candidates in their final year of undergraduate studies.  

- Proficient written and spoken English; fluency in French, Arabic, or Spanish is an advantage.  

- A strong sense of enthusiasm, dedication, and a problem-solving attitude.  

- Self-motivation, adaptability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
