Do you want to support youth-driven peacebuilding initiatives, coordinate events, and gain valuable project management experience?

Duration: 6 months (Monday-Thursday, 32h/week)

Location: The Hague (Netherlands) with possibility to work from home two days per

week


You will receive a stipend of 500 EUR per month to cover some expenses (additionally, commuting to

the office is reimbursed by UNOY). 


About UNOY Peacebuilders  

UNOY is a network of more than 130 youth organizations driven by young people, all striving for the creation of more peaceful societies. We advocate for values such as peace, diversity, inclusion, and active participation. At UNOY, young individuals can acquire practical experience in peacebuilding, collaborate with an international team, enhance their skill sets, and engage with peers and organizations globally. 

Each intern receives guidance from a supervisor who assists in setting personal learning objectives, identifying training opportunities, and tracking development throughout the internship.


ROLES:

As the Projects Officer, you will collaborate closely with the Capacity Development Lead and the broader team, with responsibilities that include:

Capacity Development & Programmatic Support.

- Assisting in the preparation and execution of the regional event for UNOY members in West and Central Africa, scheduled for May/June 2025 in Ghana.

- Working together to coordinate UNOY’s Pool of Trainers and manage related resources.

- Facilitating the engagement of the Pool of Trainers in UNOY activities and projects.

- Organizing training sessions and workshops for the UNOY International Secretariat and its members.

- Supporting the creation and implementation of UNOY’s capacity development strategy, emphasizing gender mainstreaming across the portfolio.

- Aiding in the development and improvement of programs in collaboration with external partners.


Communications & Administration.

- Contributing to internal and external communications for UNOY projects.

- Taking the lead in coordinating and producing the intern-driven Peace Corner podcast.

- Collaborating with the Communications Team to enhance the visibility of UNOY’s efforts through various communications products, such as blog posts.

- Representing UNOY at events with external partners.

- Providing general office support beyond your assigned program duties as needed.


ELIGIBILITY:

We are seeking candidates who possess:  

- A higher education degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) in fields related to peace and conflict, international relations, or other relevant disciplines.  

- Experience or a strong passion for peacebuilding and youth empowerment.  

- Project management abilities coupled with a proactive attitude.  

- Experience or a keen interest in organizing training sessions and other events.  

- Strong intercultural communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both in teams and independently with minimal supervision.  

- Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English; knowledge of French, Arabic, or Spanish is a plus.
